September marks the end of the summer season in the Italy, as well as in the rest of Mediterranean. After the three months of summer, kids go back to school. Surfers and beach lifeguards start to think about which hot, tropical place they can spend the winter. Indeed, many surfers work in the summer as lifeguards or surf instructors and spend the money in winter to realize their main dream: a surfing trip somewhere on the globe.
For some of them, leaving Italy with an ISA certificate is an opportunity to find a job as a surf o SUP instructor in some foreign surf school. For this reason, the ISA courses organized in the fall are normally very crowded. However, fall is also the time of heavy rains and big floods, meteorologic events have been happening with more frequency and brutality in the last few years. The last successful ISA course in Italy was held in Rome the weekend of September 19-20th at The Beach Surf School in Lido di Maccarese, a beach break in front of Rome. The weather forecast of rains and winds didn’t discouraged the participants to the SUP Flat Water course.
The next ISA courses will be held in Forte dei Marmi (Tuscany) and, according to the ISA Presenter for Italy, Surf L1, Sup Flat Water and Sup Specialist Module, they are already fully booked.
