The ISA (International Surfing Association) is the governing body for the sport of surfing as recognized by the IOC (International Olympic Committee). The ISA runs numerous events throughout the year, but the World Junior Championships is considered by many in the surf world as the most prestigious of them all.

Many of today’s top pro surfers are former champions, finalists, and competitors of the ISA World Junior Championships in the past. This competition will showcase the world’s best surfers and will crown champions in four divisions: Boys Under 18, Girls Under 18, Boys Under 16, and Girls Under 16. Each country has a maximum of twelve competitors, with four competitors for each of the under 18s and two for each of the under 16s. The ISA World Junior Championships awards medals for the top four finishers of each of these four divisions as well as top four teams overall.
