The ISA expands into China to help fulfill the ISA President’s global mission to spread the aloha spirit of surfing around the world. In so doing, the IOC took notice of this progressive step in the surfing’s journey to be recognized by the IOC for future Games. The ISA delivered the Hainan Wanning Riyue Bay International Surfing Festival, which was two events, back-to-back. The first was the ISA China Cup, with 8 invited National Teams competing in the traditional ISA format. The second was the Hainan Classic, a 4-Star Men’s ASP contest. This was the first time the ISA has delivered an ASP event.
