FISURF (Italian Surfing Federation) held a SURF L1 course last weekend, building on the success of the SURF L2 course held by Jamo Borthwick two weeks ago on the Italian coast.
Despite frequent showers and wind gusts, 22 participants from all over Italy arrived and attended the two day course run by Alessandro Dini, the ISA Course Presenter for Italy.
At the end of the last course, all of the participants learned that Italy’s pride, Leonardo Fioravanti, was in first place for the Qualifying Series. All of the participants then celebrated Fioravanti’s two back-to-back second finishes that he received at the Surfset in Newcastle and at the Australian Open in Manly Beach.
“It was insane to hear during the course that Leo was in another final within a week” said Alessandro Dini. “All the boys jumped and screamed ‘Viva Leo, Viva Leo’… so funny”.
The next ISA Course in Italy will be held next weekend (March 12-13th) in Forte dei Marmi. This time it will be a SUP Flat Water course. For more information regarding the next course, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
