Ideal surf conditions will produce the perfect battlefield for the 100 plus competitors who will converge on the infamous beach break for the actioned packed one day event. The 21 & Under Men’s, 16 & Under Men’s, 21 & Under Girls, 13 & Under Boys and 10 & Under Squids divisions will all be tightly contested as they battle it out for valuable series points, as well as a share of prizes courtesy of Volcom.

Gold Coast’s Liam O’Brien (Benowa, Qld) will be tough to beat after a stellar start to his 2016 surfing campaign. O’Brien will be looking to continue this momentum into the Men’s Pro Am 21 & Under division.

The crowd favourite 10 & Under Squids division will be hotly contested with Landen Smales (Peregian Beach, Qld) making the journey South to battle it out against local surfer Ty Richardson (Palm Beach, Qld).

The top four competitors from each qualifying event will then go on to contest the National Final in Narrabeen, NSW where winners from each division will be crowned, and in-turn will become eligible to compete at a huge World Final at the famous Lower Trestles break in California next June – with a whopping prize purse of $30,000 USD.

Volcom’s philosophy of creating a unique and highly inclusive environment that celebrates ‘having a go’ will shine through in this series according to their International Team Manager, Matt Bemrose.

“The TCT tour really puts the fun back into competitive surfing, from your top level pro to your ‘little buddy’ just starting out there is something for everyone. With the inclusion of the winner traveling to the US to compete in one of the best waves on the planet, Trestles, it’s hard not to get excited about the upcoming series,” he said.

Specifically designed for the best female and male talent to showcase their fresh, freakish and fearless skills in the water, the world-wide series aims to give talented youth the opportunity to gain competition experience and have fun whilst doing so.

The series is proudly sponsored by Volcom, Vans, Electric, Futures Fins and Surfing Queensland.
