Argentina announces its team for the Pan American Surfing Games
As the 8th Pan American Surfing Games approach, scheduled to take place November 3-11 in Iquique, Chile, the Argentinean surfers prepare as a team and as individual athletes in the main breaks of Argentina. After a very harsh winter on the coast of Mar De Plata, the majority of the national team participants have traveled to distinct locations of Latin America in search of warmer weather and waves.
As is normal for this type of contest, the enthusiasm and strength of the surfers will be the main motive driving them to Chile, given the fact that they have not received any support from the private sector or from the Sports Division of the Government.
The team for the OPEN category is comprised of the following athletes: Maxi Siri, Martín Passeri, Lucas Santamaría and Leandro Usura. Francisco Usuna and Juan Arca will have their chance in the Junior category, while Verónica Olano and María Paz Usuna will be competing in the Women´s group. The Longboard category will include competitors such as Martín Pérez and Federico Goñi, while Emiliano Tabaré and Gustavo Alba will compete in Bodyboard.
The team is bound for Chile on October 26th in order to have a few days before the event to test the waves of Urracas and Punta 1, the chosen locations for the most important surfing event on the American continent.
