PB for Hawker

Ryan Hawker posted a personal best result on the Australasian Pro Junior Series over the last weekend finishing 19th at the Billabong Pro Junior held at Wollongong, Australia.
Hawker posted the highest heat score of the day on the Friday scoring 17.50 out of a possible 20 points. Sixteen year old Hawker went on to make it through one further heat beating his older more experienced opponents before bowing out on Sunday morning. The result pushed Ryan up to 70th on the ratings - the third highest Kiwi behind Richard Christie (19th) and Tim O'Connor (58th).
Raglan's Billy Stairmand placed 25th at the event to post his best ever result in only his second Pro Junior event of the season. Australia's Julian Wilson won the boys division and Sally Fitzgibbon won the girls ahead of New Zealand's Airini Mason who placed second. Airini came up against Sally three times on the final day and could not manage to take down the young Australian dynamo. Airini maintained her second placing on the ratings... again behind Sally. Paige Hareb and Mischa Davis both placed 13th in the girls division. Paige now sits at 9th with Mischa in 12th place.
The next event for the guys is the Aloha Hornet Pro Junior in Sydney which begins on Thursday with the girls not competing until the final event - The Billabong Pro Junior to be held at Bells Beach commencing the 2nd of October.
