Brazilians in the big leagues
The seven Brazilians that are battling in Foster’s ASP World Tour have not had very spectacular performances throughout this year. Nevertheless, they will be fighting during the second half of the tour, including the Nova Schin Surf Festival, where they will compete as locals.
This group is known worldwide as Brazil’s class of competitors in terms of surfing.
The first Brazilian to appear in the bracket is Adriano de Souza in 24th place with a total of 2,187 points. Adriano earned this figure through three different occasions in which he gained 17th place, 33rd place and a meritorious fifth place in South Africa at the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay.
Four spots below is Raoni Monteiro, Bernardo Miranda and Leonardo Neves. With a total of 1,870 points, these three surfers have placed ninth in one occasion, 17th place in two others and 33rd place in two other instances.
Rodrigo Dornelles, with 1,680 points, is in position 34 in the most challenging surfing tour. This Brazilian snagged three 17th and two 33rd to gain this rank.
Víctor Ribas appears three slots below with 1,495 points due to the following results: three times in 33rd place and two times in 17th place.
Finally, the surfer that completes the roster of Brazilians is the veteran athlete Neco Padaratz, in 40th position with 1,310 points. He earned this spot through four times in 33rd place and one 17th place spot that he snagged in the last contest in South Africa.
