Boricuas in England

The Rip Curl Board Masters that took place two days ago in Fistral Beach, Newquay, England, was not a good experience for Dylan Graves and Brian Toth from Puerto Rico.  This was the 24th event of the WQS tour’s calendar of official competitions and had a 5 star category.

Spanish Luis Rodríguez was substituted for Brian Toth in heat 20 of round of 144. Toth competed against Brazilian Diego Rosa, who won his heat, Maz Quinn from New Zealand and South African Christopher Schnitzer. The Puerto Rican placed second behind Diego Rosa. In heat 19 of the round of 96 he placed second again behind Australian Dayyan Neve, making it through, to the round 48, where he lost in the following round placing third.

Dylan Graves’ performance was worst. He began in heat 23 in the round of 144 where he earned second place after Australian Jack Perry followed by Gilmar Silva from Brazil and another Australian surfer, Jaymes Triglone.

In the next round he couldn’t get a place among the first two and stayed out of competition with 450 points and the 73rd place in the tournament.

As for Toth, he scored 700 points and finished the Rip Curl Board Masters in the 25th place with U$S 1100,00 to his account.
