September: A month of intense surfing action in Portugal

Next September will be a busy month for Portugal’s surfing; the Portuguese Surfing Federation’s scheduled several events in different spots of the country. The “Luso surfers will be visiting the following breaks”: Praia Grande, Viana do Castelo and Peniche.

The first event will take place on September the 1st in Praia Grande where the second stage of the 2007 Longboard National Tour will be carried out. Diogo Goncalves is the current leader of this tour with 2340 points. José Texeira, Bruno Grandela, Miguel Ruivo and Eurico Goncalves are behind him.

A week later the nation top bodyboarders will pour out onto Viana do Castelo where the third stage of the Bodyboard Open and Ladies National Tour will take place. The ranking of this division is the following: 

1 Manuel Centeno           1720 points
2 Hugo Pinheiro             1670 points
3 Luis Duarte                1285 points
4 Jaime Jesús               1060 points
5 João Pinheiro             1060 points

Junior surfers will go to the water on September 15th when the fourth stage of the Pro Junior National Tour will be held in Peniche. After the first three stages César Rosa is the current leader with 4253 points, he is followed by Nicholas Von Rupp, Miguel Mouzinho, Leo Belime and Luca Guichard respectively.
