Gabriel Villaran improves his WQS position
Young Peruvian surfer Gabriel Villaran continues his international tour on the WQS Tour, The world wide tour previous to the WCT where his friend Sofia Mulanovich, also from Peru, is succeeding in the ladies division. Villaran is now positioned in 236th place with 1475 points, after the world ranking was updated. He moved up 29 positions in comparison with the previous list.
Gabriel Villaran was born July 12, 1984 and he is an example for all Latin American surfers who are looking for a place in the long and tough way to the WCT. In 2003 Gabriel made his debut in ASP’s second division tour where he competed twelve times and obtained 206th place by the end of the year.
After a crushing performance in 2005 Gabriel, who comes from a surfer’s breed, became the ALAS tour’s champion. The championship is organized by the Latin American Surfing Association. With his triumph he extended Peruvian’s power on the Latin Circuit.
Gabriel Villaran is now competing in Lacanau, France in a six-star event. The tournament will de carried out until August the 19th in Grand Plage Beach.
