Everything ready for the last stage of the Triple Crown

From August 17th to the 19th the last stage of the “Winter Surf Triple Crown 2007” will take place in Jaco Beach. The event is organized by the Costa Rican Surfing Federation and will include Open, Junior and Ladies divisions.

The big favorite to win the first Winter Triple Crown is Luis Vindas, who is in the first place of the ranking with 2000 points, followed by Jairo Perez with 1590 points.

This is the first time Costa Rican Surf Federation has organized such a competition. It’s worth mentioning that the event is a professional tournament while the national circuit is not. This first winter tournament delivers U$S 5000 in cash prizes.

“We’ve decided to organize this Triple Crown in order to satisfy hundreds of surfers’ needs who want to keep competing the whole year. I think that as we focus on these three divisions it will help us to promote surfing among the new generations in the country”, said Jose Ureña, President of the Costa Rican Surf Federation.
