Federico Pilurzu´s shows a remarkable performance in the Rip Curl Board Masters
Federico Pilurzo’s outstanding performance in Newquay, England, placed Costa Rica in 9th position in the final results. Pilurzu ranked the highest Hispanic American in this respected event.
Federico made his debut in the 18 heat of round 144 where he competed against Brazilian Wiggolly Dantas, winner of the heat, Bobby Hansen from New Zealand and David Richards from South Africa. Pilurzu was positioned behind Dantas and made it to the next round.
In round 96 he placed in the second position again behind another Brazilian surfer. This time the first place went to Heitor Alves followed by Warwick Wright and Joan Duru who took third and fourth position respectively. Once again the Tico was on his way to round 48 where he was second of his heat behind Australian Dayyan Neve.
Maybe because he was faithful to his tricks, Federico Pilurzu repeated his deed when he obtained the second place following Troy Brooks of Australia and went directly to round of 12.
On his last performance in British sea he was unable to repeat what he had done during the event. He contented with a third place behind Jay Thompson from Australia and Heitor Alves, the surfer from Brazil who was beaten by American Ben Bourgeois, and finished with a good performance in the Rip Curl Board Masters from Newquay, England.
