SANS is presenting a night of recognition at the 2007 Surfers Poll Awards taking place in December 2007. The Surfers Poll Awards was an idea hatched in order to have a party that did not have to coincide with wave conditions, as we all know, the waves here are unpredictable. This is a participatory event so we are asking members of the surf community to get involved in this first step by nominating yourself and/or your friends for any of the categories listed on the nomination form. Nomination forms can be filled out at Kannon Beach, Dacanes, South Shore Surf Shop and Rossignol Surf Shop. You can also request en electronic version from surferspoll@gmail.com. The nomination period is from now until September 1st. You may fill out as many nomination forms as you want. The actual process and eligibility is listed on the first page of the nomination form. The goal of the event is to have fun, recognize some shredders and artists, and possibly dance all night long. So, pay attention in the water… maybe you'll catch someone pulling a rad trick or dropping into a big wave or wiping out hard. All three of these examples are categories.
