Surfers from Sao Pablo shined in the Third Stage of the Brazilian Maresia Surf Circuit

With a great showing during the whole contest, the team from Sao Pablo dominated the actions in Batuba Beach, Olivença. The “Paulistas” finished in the first place, followed by Bahia team, Santa Catarina and Río Grande del Norte. With this victory the team is positioned on top of the ranking ahead of  Rio Grande del Norte, Santa Catarina and Bahía.

Excellent performances could be seen in all the heats and one of the most outstanding surfers was Jadson André –current ISA World Champion in the Junior division- who competed in Open and Junior division. The winners of this stage were: Jadson André (Open), Franklin Serpa (Junior), Gabriela Leite (Open Ladies), Diana Cristina (Junior Ladies) and Jessé Mendes (champion in Mirim and Beginners).

The big attraction of the last round was the final between Franklin Serpa and Jadson André in the Junior division. In the first minutes the World Champion made an interference that made him loose 50% of his second best score. But Andre didn’t give up and performed a 360 aerial that the judges rewarded with a 10. Then Franklin took a wave and destroyed it to obtain a 7.13 score and jump to the first place.

“It’s great to win at home with the support of the people and my family. It was an exciting victory. Jadson is one of the best surfers of the world and he is always a great rival”, said Franklin Serpa after his triumph.
