Head Council
Presidents of the States
The whole Mexican Surfing community

I address to you to inform about Mexican progress in surfing during 2007.
Mexican Surfing Federation was energic with the celebration of the second National stage in Quintana Roo that David Hernández and the ASQR coordinated. The event was a success because of the conditions, place and the waves.

Alter that, the Mexpipe Surf Carnaval took place in February in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, followed by the Bahía de Banderas Festival in Sayulita, Nayarit, in March. After that, Mexico was represented by Dylan Southworth and Abel Estopin in the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship Portugal 2007 on May.

Guerrero state is deeply committed to organizing local and international events. Oaxaca too, especially Puerto Escondido with Mr Ángel Salinas who is the best promoter of young and professional surfing with the X Games in Puerto, the Children’s National in La Punta and the International Longboard Classic in Puerto Escondido.

Sinaloa, Baja Sur, Colima, Michoacán, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Baja Norte will organize the next closure of the 2006-2007 tour from September the 19th to the 23rd and a series of State Events in order to be prepared for the National.
In Ixtapa, Leonél Pérez will organize the 2007 ALAS Mexico in September.

The Mexican Surf Fiesta at San Miguel in Baja Norte from the ASP will take place in October, the Chilean Panamerican in November and the Christmas Surfing Open in December at Tres Emes Beach in Ensenada.

I also want to ask again that the states of the Federation regularize their status so that we could continue with our CODEME affiliation plans. I also ask you to send us the information so that the next closing of the National Circuit 2006-2007 will also be a successful event; the notification can be seen on www.surfeando.com.mx .

Greetings and we keep in touch.
Good waves to everyone,
Alejandro Vega
