Diego Naranjo: A tico in California

The Costa Rican surf Champion participated in the US Open and renewed his contracts with his sponsors. Also, he met with Michael Baron who gave him his new quiver for the second stage of the ALAS Latin tour.
Surfer Diego Naranjo, current Costa Rica national Champion, is now in California. He went there to compete in the US Open that took place in Huntington Beach. After competing in the prestigious WQS event, he also signed contracts with his sponsors Billabong and Free Style.
“I will be in California for ten days and I will sign the renewal of my contracts with Billabong and Free Style after my participation in the US Open. I have planned also to meet with the shaper Michael Baron to pick my board quiver for the second half of the ALAS Latin tour”, Mr. Naranjo said to Surfpress.
Diego will come back home from the Surf City USA where he will go on training hard for the next stages of the ALAS Latin Tour, but before that he will participate in the last stage of the “Triple Crown Winter Surf 2007”, which will take place from August the 17th to the 19th in Jacó.
Then, he will compete in the VIII Panamerican Surf Games that will be held in Iquique, Chile from November the 5th to the 11th. It will be one of the biggest competitions for Mr. Naranjo and the whole Costa Rican team.
El Salvador, Mexico, Barbados, Costa Rica and Panama will be the five stops that the Latin American Surfing Association plans to visit. Diego Naranjo will be there fighting for the title against the best Latin Surfers.
