Maresia Surfing Tour arrives to OlivenÇa

From August the 3rd to the 5th Batuba Beach in Olivença –Bahía- will receive the best young surfers of Brazil. This will be the third stage of the “Maresia Surfing Tour” organized by the Brazilian Surf Confederation.

Athletes from six divisions will be competing to obtain the available places to conform the national team that will participate on the next Panamerican Surfing Games. These games will take place on Iquique’s cold waters, in the north of Chile.

Jason André, the current World Champion and an outstanding athlete in 2007, is leading Junior and Open divisions. He has already confirmed his assistance to the event with the Rio Grande del Norte team.

On the Mirim division the duel is between Marco Fernandez -current leader of the ranking who´s from Bahia- and Miguel Pupo from San Pablo. Whereas on the ladies division Nathalie Martins is at the top of the Open division and Monik Santos of the Junior.

Rio Grande del Norte team, San Pablo’s, Santa Catarina’s and Bahia’s team -2006 Champions- are the ones that are fighting for the top of the ranking.

During the third stage of the tour the Brazilian Surf Confederation calendar will be presented with 2008 locations.

Maresia Surfing Tour is exclusively sponsored by MARESIA, a genuinely Brazilian company that has his head office in Fortaleza. MARESIA has recently renewed his contract with the CBS until 2009.
