PORTUGAL WINS EURSURF 2007
The Portuguese Surfing Team won for the second time in a row the European Surfing Championship, Eurosurf 2007, held at Anglet, France. The best Portuguese surfer in the Open division was Rubén González, who placed fourth. His team already had the victory in the team placing with a 400 point advantage.
The great scores from the Portuguese Team came with amazing performances by Paulo Rodrigues in the Senior division and Pedro Araujo in the Masters, placing in second.
The Porguguese bodyboarders were, once again, standouts in the competition and just like in the past World Surfing Games, won Gold and Silver. Hugo Pinheiro placed first and Manuel Centeno second. On the ladies side Joana Rocha placed third.
Porgugal showed once again they’re the great new European power surfing nation.
