LUIS VINDAS: STANDS OUT FOR THE WINTER TRIPLE CROWN FIRST STAGE

Costa Rican Surf Federation organized the Winter Triple Crown Surf 2007 in order to keep the athletes active and improve their surfing.

José Ureña, President of the Costa Rica Surfing Federation said regarding the Winter Triple Crown: “We’ve decided to make this Triple Crown as a way to answer the need of thousands of surfers on our coasts that are looking for a way to keep a competitive and permanent activity. I think that as we focus on these three divisions, it will be possible for us to promote and incentive surfers of the new generation of the country.”

The first stage took place in Dominical from June the 8th to the 10th. The podium of the Open division was occupied by: Luis Vindas taking first place, Jairo Perez in second, Carlos Muñoz in third place, and Diego Naranjo in fourth.

The current National Champion, Diego Naranjo, said the following about the Triple Crown: “This kind of things helps our country surf a lot, juniors are showing a great level of surf and it’s getting more difficult each time to get to the final. They are improving and elevating their surfing level and this also drives us to keep improving and not to be left behind.”

The following stages of the Costa Rica Winter Triple Crown will be held:

July the 27th, 28th and 29th -Boca Barranca

August the 17th, 18th and 19th – Jaco
