Moskito Groms Swarming on Fistral

The Moskito Groms Tour (in association with Globe/Electric/Santa Cruz) is coming to Newquay this weekend. The tour is a Europe-wide series of ‘spring board’ events for under 16 surfers. The 2007 Moskito Tour kicked off at the end of April with the first event at Costa Da Caparica in Portugal and then headed straight on to Les Sable d’Olonnes in the Vendee region of France followed by a great event in challenging conditions at La Torche in Brittany.

This will be the first time in its seven year history that the tour comes to England, and Fistral is set to deliver the goods, with 3-6 ft surf and light winds being forecast. The action kicks off at 9am tomorrow and runs right through to finals action on Sunday afternoon.

The event will be the first time that the BSA utilises a computerized judging system. This welcome step into the 21st century will allow both competitors and spectators to be instantly notified of scores and positioning via the PA system and will add to the excitement of the event whilst elucidating the often misunderstood judging process.
