Beach Cleanup: June 10th, 2007
The Surfriders Association of Nova Scotia invites everyone to join in on Beach Cleanup Day on June the 10th. This will take place at five different sites in Cowbay. We would like as many people to participate to give back to the coastal community.

The beach cleanup main site will be The Moose. We currently need four to five people to volunteer as cleanup leaders at each of the auxiliary sites. We also need a pickup truck. For more information see the Coastal Access Committee Webpage on www.surfns.com.

SURF Movie Night: July 6th, 2007

There will be a movie night on July 6th at the Garrison Brewery at Pier 21 on the Halifax Waterfront. The surf video is to be announced. Cost is $10 per person. All earnings will go to the Junior and Adult Canadian World Surfing Teams. We will be holding an advanced sign-up for the September Storm at the party. This is for ONE NIGHT ONLY. Regular sign-up for the contest begins on July 14th and ends on August 19th or when we have reached our cap of 150 surfers.

Canadian Surfing Magazine

A new Canadian Surfing Magazine was launched recently called SBC Surf.  It is on sale now in Halifax/Dartmouth. The first issue is a 172-page mag that is currently scheduled for biannual publication. There are a lot of shots of surfers from "out east"; this is not only a magazine for BC surfers. It features solid coverage of both veterans and young guns and does a great job of capturing the variable conditions in which we surf. Congratulations to Neal Durling for being named regional contributor for SBC Surf Magazine
