Hiroto Arai wins 2010 Junior Open Surfing Championship

18 to 19 July
Koizumi Beach, Miyagi

Hiroto Arai won the 2010 Junior Open Surfing Championship. The Junior event took place at Miyagi. The wave conditions were not good enough for competition but all junior surfers showed a great level of surfing. Especially Hiroto Arai, who won the event and displayed world-class surfing.

He placed 2nd at the NSA event in May. This result was taken as the revenge of Hiroto. He has already decided not to participate in the 2010 Billabong ISA World Surfing Games. Nonetheless, the NSA is expecting to have a Japanese surfer on the podium this year.
