ISA Announces that it is Currently Accepting Bids for the ISA World Stand Up Paddleboard Surfing Championship (WSUPSC)

11 February, 2010
La Jolla, California

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is still accepting bids for the inaugural 2010 ISA World Stand Up Paddleboard Surfing Championship. Several ISA members and independent promoters have shown an interest in hosting this event. The bidding will close on 28 February, 2010.

Stand Up Paddleboard Surfing (SUP) is an ancient Hawaiian sport that has shown tremendous growth worldwide in recent years. SUP surfing has made exciting progress and as a result the ISA is thrilled to bring together the world's best SUP surfers in the first ISA SUP World Championship, showcasing this exciting sport.

The ISA World Stand Up Paddleboard Surfing Championship has been formatted for participation of 16 National Teams composed of 5 people: 3 SUP males, 1 SUP female and 1 manager/coach. The contest itself will take place over a one week period and will consist of only one podium.  This compact, action-packed event gives the chance for smaller NGBs to host a key ISA event.

We look forward to receiving your bid to host this exhilarating and unique World Championship in your country.
