Zicatela Pro 2009 Announced

The Surfing Association of Oaxaca State (A.S.E.O. for its initials in Spanish), the Oaxaca State Tourism Board and the Santa Maria Colotepec City Hall, call:

- All Mexican and Foreign surfers to participate in the November Feast International Surfing “ZICATELA PRO 2009”,
in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.

BASIS

PLACE AND DATE: Will take place from November 6th through the 8th, 2009.

PARTICIPANTS: All surfers that register before the deadline for Registration (Tuesday, November 3rd), can participate.

CATEGORIES: Open Shortboard and Open Bodyboard.

RULES: The rules of the Mexican Surfing Federation will be used, and guaranteed by ISA.

PRIZES: The first four places in each category will be awarded more than 0,000 pesos, distributed equally between the 2 categories, and participation diplomas.

FACILITIES: A.S.E.O. in their role as organizers, are looking for support and discounts for the participants in local hotels, motels, and restaurants.

TRANSITORY ISSUES: Any subject not mentioned in this Call will be solved by the Organizing Committee.  For more information:

Third Historical Revolcadero to Take Place

The third edition of the Historical Child and Junior Historical Competition in the waves of Revolcadero – Acapulco – will take place on the weekend of October 24th and 25th.

Mexicans from ages 6 to 17 can participate in the five divisions that cover these ages.

The event is being organized by the Revolcadero Wave Surfers’ Assembly Association.

About the International Surfing Association

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the World Governing Authority for Surfing. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running Open Division World Championships since 1964, Junior World Championships since 1980, and Masters World Championships since 2007. The ISA will hold the first Stand Up Paddle (SUP) World Championship and the first World Bodyboard Championship in 2011.

ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies of 64 countries on five continents. Its headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is presided over by Fernando Aguerre (Argentina), first elected President in 1994 in Rio de Janeiro and re-elected seven times since. The ISA's three Vice-Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Mike Gerard (USA) and Karín Sierralta (Peru).
