O'Neill Ribeira Grande Pro presented by Nissan

Frederico Morais and Francisca Pereira dos Santos win in Azores.

Junior athletes Frederico Morais, 17, and Francisca Pereira dos Santos, 20, won their respective divisions in the O'Neill Ribeira Grande Pro presented by Nissan.

This is the third event of the National Surf Open Championship and fourth of the Women's Championship, that ended yesterday in Monte Verde beach, Ribeira Grande, San Miguel Island.

Portuguese bodyboarders marked their presence during the Peniche Sumol Pro '09, with some reaching the decisive phases of the event that closed the European round of the Bodyboard World Tour.

Hugo Pinheiro and Rita Pires, both from Costa da Caparica, obtained the best scores among the national delegation and were the best in the competition.

About the International Surfing Association (ISA)
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for Surfing. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980.

ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of over 50 countries on six continents. Its headquarters are located in La Jolla, California. It is presided by Fernando Aguerre, first elected in 1994 in Rio, and re-elected six times since. The ISA's four Vice Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Mike Gerard (USA) and Karín Sierralta (Peru).
