Wahu Surfer Groms Comps:

Summer 2009 is shaping up as a real cracker for the nation’s up-and-coming surfing champions, with the country’s best known beach brand, Wahu, taking their successful Wahu Surfer Groms Comps nationwide.

Formerly just in Queensland, five states (QLD, NSW, WA, SA and VIC) will now host the exciting, all-grommet affair, which has divisions catering to the micro-groms (U/9) up to the big kids (U/15), and is all about providing a fun but competitive environment.

Surfing Australia High Performance Centre Presents Spring School Holiday Camps:

Drop into the Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC) during the school holidays to surf fun uncrowded waves and improve your surfing.

Whether you are looking to land an aerial or complete your first cutback, by attending an HPC camp your surfing will benefit from:

• Video analysis of each wave you surf during the camp.
• Tips and coaching from Australia’s finest, fully accredited surfing coaches.
• Participate in a camp competition and win great prizes.
• Receive a DVD of the camp to watch yourself surfing at home.
• HPC shirt for each participant.

Country Energy Australian Surf Festival Wraps Up In Style

As the curtain closed on the Country Energy Australian Surf Festival, nine Australian Surfmasters Titles were awarded at Lighthouse Beach, Port Macquarie.

Having seen 344 competitors in 260 heats over the past two weeks with 23 Australian Titles handed out, the final day of competition was one to remember.

Led by some amazing performances from a host of athletes, the biggest amateur surfing event in the country closed with a bang.

After another massive year, the Country Energy Australian Surf Festival will turn its attention to 2010 which will no doubt see it back and bigger than ever.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for Surfing.
