Surfing is a step closer of the Olympic Games
 

Manuel Lozano, President of the Ecuadorian Surfing Federation, communicated after the General Assembly of the Bolivarian Sport Games - Ecuador 2009, that the assembly approved Surfing as an Exhibition Sport of that event.

The presidents of the Olympic committees of Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador participated of this assembly. It was unanimous the decision of including surf in the games.

Talking about this issue, Lozano said: “I think this decision is helpful for ISA’s and Fernando Aguerre´s work. It is important to pay attention in each country, not only to the Bolivarian Games, but also of the Pan Americans, South Americans and Olympic games, this way we could follow the steps to get surfing into de Olympics.”
