AMAZING BILLABONG ISA WORLD SURFING GAMES 2009

Two weeks after the official closing of the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games 2009, all those who took part in the event still bask in the afterglow.
It was a record breaking event in many ways.  The  attendance of 35 countries, the excellent organization, the consistent and perfect waves, the best level of surfing in the world, the audience of 20,000 strong that lined the beach.
The Billabong ISA World Surfing Games had everything that a world-class surfing event should have.

Echoes of the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games

As a part of the staff that organizes these events, sometimes we don’t get to see how wonderful these ISA World Surfing Championships truly are.

It’s an  amazing opportunity to be a part of these events as staff, but typically, the months before, during and after the event we are so busy that it is hard to get a feel for the experiences had by the surfers, media, and spectators.

New Zealand will host the 2010 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship

It was announced today at the International Surfing Association’s Annual General Meeting that the 8th Edition of the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship will be held in the perfect waves of New Zealand.

August 8th, 2009 is a day Jeremy Flores will never forget.  It was a day in which everything went well and he seized that opportunity to do things perfectly.  When the double bugle sounded, announcing the end of the 2009 edition of the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games, a wave came his way; Flores took it, stood up and celebrated until he reached the sand.
