In Search of Talents: 2009 Movistar Talent Incubator
The first event of the 2009 Movistar Talent Incubator, that took place in Cerro Azul beach – Cañete on Saturday March 7, attracted an enormous amount of fans. Boys and girls under 14-years-old excelled themselves before their teachers, parents and general public.

The conditions were perfect to inaugurate the 2009 Movistar Talent Incubator.  Small, well-shaped lefts with series of 3 to 4 waves set the scenario in which the surfers would show their expertise.

The first heat was conformed by four excellent boys of the Under 12 category, among which Adrian Garcia and Franco Vidal showed excellent skill after completing a total of 10 waves, having as best scores 5,43 and 4,77 respectively.

The Under-14 category start-up was at 10.30 a.m.  It was composed of four 20-minute heats each.  The tide was beginning to change and the conditions to improve.  In this category, the young surfer Adrian Garcia stood out again, because being only 9-years-old, he did solid maneuvers and obtained the first place in his heat.
The beach had two scenarios after noon.

The first, called Point 1, was very near the rock that characterizes Cerro Azul.  In this scenario, the roles were played by the Under 12 and Under 14 PRO, Under 14 and Tandem categories.  Point 2 was located near the pier, and there the other categories competed, i.e., Under 10 and Under 12 Girls and Under 10 Boys. The waves made life easier to these categories since these were small and with little strength.

Parents and teachers cheered their sons and students during each heat, which became more and more exciting as the day went by; nevertheless, the one that called most attention due the maneuvers shown was the Tandem category.

The first to surprise were Roberto Meza and petite Mia Focacci, because in their first wave, both stand in a more than 10 feet board, but Roberto takes Mia and places her in his shoulders, carrying out a pirouette that made the entire beach applaud enthusiastically.  From then on, the competitors did not cease to create and experiment breathtaking maneuvers.

Second date of the Movistar Talent Incubator: March 21 and 22 in Barranquito
