British Junior Team raise funds
Thanks to British Junior Team sponsor Calypso Soft Drinks who are supporting the BSA to fund the training costs of the British Junior team and now, with the support of Quiksilver, in providing team kit.
However it is still necessary to cover the costs of travel and accommodation for the team to compete in Ecuador at the end of March 2009. Tony Good, BSA coach and parent of one of the team members has come up with a great initiative to raise funds to assist the Junior team.
The Fistral Fundraiser has been given the green light, scheduled for the best forecasted day over the weekend of 7th 8th March. All junior team members are helping to run the event and only allowed time off to compete in the expression session.
This is a call up for all British Junior Surfers to get on board shake off the winter blues and get back into contest mode, at the first event of the season.
There are divisions for U/14, U/16, U/18 & U/18 girls to enter & win themselves some great prizes that have been donated already.
One of the highlights of the day will be a chance for 1 surfer to blow up and win the wildcard into the expression session and have their chance to compete against the junior team members to bag the prize for the most progressive manoeuvre.
Running alongside the contest will be BSA team coaches on hand to scout for up and coming talent and give feedback to all competitors.
Team parents will be running a fundraising raffle throughout the day and a surf auction just prior to the prize giving.
Competitor’s entry forms can be downloaded from the britsurf.co.uk website.
Event organizer & parent Tony Good welcomes along all British Juniors and family members and says to expect a professional, fun, action packed day. With all BSA and UK Pro Surf Tour top officials working together, this event will kick start the 2009 contest season and help towards funding the biggest invoice ever issued to a British surf team.
There are some great sponsoring / marketing opportunities available for companies that would like to get involved or donate products. For information on how you can make a difference please contact Tony on 01637 872616, or email atlantic.coastsurf@virgin.net.
