ANGELO LOZANO: A PROPHET IN HIS OWN LAND
The Vans PXM International took place in Puerto Escondido from November 13 to 16. Mexican Angelo Lozano was crowned champion, winning by a margin of 5.03 points over the second placed Gabriel Villarán of Peru. Ryan Turner (USA) and David Rutherford (Mexico) were placed third and fourth respectively.

ASP COURSES FOR SURFING JUDGES
Previous to the VANS PXM event in Puerto Escondido – Oaxaca, five Mexicans took the course offered by qualified ASP judges.
Those were: Leobardo Serrano from Jalisco, Roberto Morales and Fernando López from Guerrero, Alberto Farias from Michoacán, and Francisco Ernesto García from Nayarit.

EVENCIO GARCIA: THE LEGEND GOES ON…
José Manuel “Yuco” Trujillo won the 23rd edition of the event that honors the first Mexican National Champion. Cristian Corzo was placed second, while Manuel Selman was third, Angelo Lozano fourth, Oscar Moncada fifth, Oscar Chino sixth, Chano Muñoz seventh and Abel Escopin eighth.

AMERICAS CUP
The final event of the First Mexican Professional Circuit – Cup of the Americas – Surfing Pro Am will take place from February 6-8, 2009, at Boca de Pascuales (Colima), with a two-category competition: short board and bodyboard, which distributes an 81,000 pesos prize.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for surfing, bodyboarding and surfriding.
