SQUALO LATIN PRO
The SQUALO LATIN PRO of the ALAS tour was carried out at Ixtapa Zihuatanejo from September 16-21. Ernesto Nunes from Brazil won in the Open division, Mexican Diego Cadena was second, the Venezuelan Francisco Bellorín won in the Junior division whereas Mexican Dylan Southworth obtained the third position.

Agostina Pellizari from Argentina obtained the first place in Ladies, Citlali Calleja from Mexico placed third, and finally Argentinean Martin Perez won in Longboard beating the Mexican surfers Patricio and Sergio González.

Historical “Revolcadero” on a children’s area
The second edition of the Historical tumble, a children and junior’s event, took place from October 25-26 at Revolcadero Beach in Acapulco.

Eleven surf boards were handed out there for future Mexican surfers. Sebastián Hernández, Emiliano Cruz, Dennis Mendoza, Jone Pereira were all winners of the children division from 6 to 8 years old. Sasha Donnano, Nahum Corzo, Melchor Peralta, Johny Corzo won in the 9 to 11 years old division.

In 12 to 14 years old division the winners were Vicente Vega, Mike Velasco, Jimmy Corzo and Sasha Donnano. Cristian Evangelista, Martín Vázquez, Aldhair Cruz, Cesar Petroni won the 15 to 17 years old division. Pamela Verboonen won the girls division followed by Asaya Corzo, Maria Amadio and Leila Takeda all of them from Oaxaca.

Environmental conscience: more than 600 turtles were released from the turtle’s camp at Hermosa Beach.

Judges registration
A registration of judges was carried out at Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca from November 7-9, 2008 with people trained by the ASP and ISA.

PXM VANS PRO FROM THE WORLD WQS TOUR OF THE ASP
From November 13-16 the PXM VANS PRO will take place at Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. This event is part of the ASP World Tour

The competition will have 50,000 dollars to be handed out from the first to the sixteenth positions. There will also be the traditional Skateboard championship with its best participants such as Mario Saenz, Beach Volley, Bikini Open, Donkey football, Sand sculpture, gastronomy and more.

EVENCIO GARCIA BIBIANO IS ALIVE
The tradition of the XXIII anniversary and commemoration of the first Mexican Surf Champion Evencio García Bibiano continues. It will take place from November 21-23 at Bonfil Beach, Acapulco where he disappeared 23 years ago and was never found again. The divisions are: Open, Junior, Evencio’s friends (his contemporaries), Open ladies and Free surfing. There will be $30,000 ps. in prizes.

AMERICA’S SURF CUP CLOSE-DOWN
From November 28-30 a spectacular close-down of the first professional surfing tour will take place at Boca de Pascuales, Colima. Pascuales’ powerful tube will receive the intrepid surfers in the final of the Surfing America’s Cup PRO AM 2008. We will finally know who the Champion of the five stages that were disputed in different Mexican scenarios will be.

About International Surfing Association
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for surfing, bodyboarding and surfriding. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980. 

ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of over 50 countries on six continents. Its headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is presided by Fernando Aguerre, first elected in 1994 in Rio, and re-elected six times since.  The ISA's four Vice Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Maile Aguerre (Hawaii) and Mike Gerard (USA).
