World Junior Surfing Championships

The Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships are right around the corner

By Pablo Zanocchi

During the last few weeks, the ISA offices has received a large number of confirmations from different nations around the world that will participate in the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships –WJSC- in Costa de Caparica, Portugal, from May 4 to 13.

If all goes on well, a total of 31 countries would be breaking the record of participating nations in the history of the WJSC. And as it happens at all the International Surfing Association – ISA – events, comradeship and friendship from all the countries will be present at the shores of Costa de Caparica.

At this exact moment, in the most remote beaches all over the world, there are many groups of teenagers training for the event, trying to improve a certain maneuver, exiting a tube, improving his or her style, in order to give their respective countries the best possible result and placing themselves at the highest positions of the rankings by team.

That is why this edition of World Surfing News has a good percentage of news dedicated to informing who the members of the participating nation’s teams are. Three of these youngsters will be crowned as the new champions of the junior world surfing and, consequently, for becoming the future surfing stars of the world…

The Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships is right around the corner. In twenty days, the best junior surfers of the world will be getting into the water representing their beloved nations and dreaming of becoming the next World Champions. Portugal will witness the greatest junior surfing championship ever.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
