In small waves and warm conditions, the Second Annual NorEaster Classic took place on March 24th at White Point Beach, Nova Scotia. In the early morning, the surfers enjoyed glassy two foot surf; but, as the day progressed, the onshore winds prevailed, making challenging conditions.

Dean Petty dominated the podium with 1st place in both the Men's Open and Longboard. Neal Durling and JD "Delbert" Patterson also put in a good showing. Both Matt Healy and Lance Moore had a couple of good rides.

The junior boys battled hard in tough conditions. In Under 16 boys, Connor Marsh caught a couple of last minute rights to edge out 2nd place finisher Isaac Norman. Logan Kemshead also surfed well.

Keegan Day paddled furiously to slip into a couple of waist high rights to take the Under 18 Boys. Ben March surfed solidly all day but a flat spell during the final made it difficult to score waves.

In the Women's Open, Julie Forbes ran away with 1st prize and a brand new surfboard. She managed a couple of turns during her afternoon final heat to win easily.

Surfriders Association of Nova Scotia wishes to thank all their sponsors for putting up the capital that made this all possible. Thanks to Steve and Chrissy from Billabong for the stereo equipment and the numerous prizes they provided. Thanks to Rob Spicer for braving frigid conditions to MC all day long. Thank you to all the judges for sticking it out for the whole day as well.

The Canadian Junior Team was unveiled at the after party ceremony. Each member received a new Canadian Surfing Association Surfboard (CSA). Thanks to Scott Forbes from Otherworld Surfboards for crafting their quivers. Lastly, thanks to Jeff Norman for arranging the White Point Beach contest and for his involvement with the Canadian Junior Team.
