Portugal has a very good history in the ISA World Surfing Games. In 1998, when they were the home team, they achieved their best performance ever, placing fourth in the overall team standings. In the previous edition, which took place at Huntington Beach, California 2006, their performance was outstanding. They got the seventh position and a memorable “one two” in Bodyboard, thanks to Manuel Centeno and Hugo Pinheiro, Golden and Silver Medal winners respectively.

This year they will have the advantage to be the host team again.
