CONTESTS
Jamaica had 3 entrants to the “Soup Bowl Pro” in Bathsheba Barbados where Icah Wilmot took a 2nd place finish in the open men’s division. No local events were conducted during September.
ISA WORLD SURFING GAMES
Jamaica will be sending our top 4 open division surfers to represent the Island at the 2008 ISA World Surfing Games to be held in Portugal, October 11-19. Due to the timing of the event and a shortfall in funding we will not be able to field a full team as our top female surfers are unavailable due to prior commitments and School.
The 4 open men will be
Inilek Wilmot
Icah Wilmot
Luke Williams
Shane Simmonds.
The fact that Jamaica will field only 4 out of a total team of 10, the overall team standing will fall but we are confident that the men will deliver their best individual performances at the '08 renewal of the Games.
