2008 O'NEILL COLD WATER CLASSIC

Josh Redman of Durban won the 2008 O'Neill Cold Water Classic in double overhead surf at Crayfish Factory, one of the most famous big wave spots in the Cape Peninsula, in mid August.
The strongly built 21 year old was awarded the title and R6,000 when he beat famous big wave charger Ian Armstrong from Kommetjie on a count-back. Both surfers had ended the 30 minute final on 12.75 points.
O'Neill team rider Casey Grant of Scottburgh beat Kommetjie local Davey Brand to take the Pro Junior title and Kirsty Delport of Durban overcame defending champion Tarryn Chudleigh of Kommetjie in the Women's final.
The four day mobile event took place in marginal surf and poor weather but ended on a high note on the final day.
