Peruvians prepare for the 2008 ISA World Surfing Games
The pre-selection of the National Team that will represent Peru in the next ISA World Championship has begun. The competition will take place on 11-19 October in Costa de Caparica, Portugal.

Sofia Mulanovich: Four-Time Best Woman Surfer
Our 2004 world champion constantly makes us proud. In the 36th Anniversary of the “Surfer Poll and Video Awards”, Sofia Mulanovich won the “Best Woman Surfer” title, a prize chosen by readers and cybernauts that voted for the great Peruvian talent.
The Government of Talara plans a Large-Scale Project in Lobitos
With revenues from the sale of 70 hectares and a budget of 100 million dollars, the Government of Talara will develop tourism areas in the paradisiacal northern beach of Lobitos.
This megaproject is considered as the major investment carried out in the entire Peruvian coast. Its objective is to increase the tourist scope of this beach, creating luxury hotels, convenience stores and a pier to serve the different water sports.
About International Surfing Association
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for surfing, bodyboarding and surfriding. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980.
ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of over 50 countries on six continents. Its headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is presided by Fernando Aguerre, first elected in 1994 in Rio, and re-elected six times since. The ISA's four Vice Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Maile Aguerre (Hawaii) and Mike Gerard (USA).
