WJSC 08
We are very happy to announce that Team Japan has succeeded to 11th place as the team result for the Quiksilver ISA WJSC 08 in France even though it went down to 2 spots from 9th place last year.
Some of our competitors, such as Miss Nao Omura who is a 2008 ISA Scholarship recipient, are regular visitors of this annual event. They and our new faces had a great experience in France; and some of them might also show up in Portugal this year.
16th Junior Open and 5th Masters Open Championship
The 16th Junior Open and 5th Masters Open Championship are going to be held on 19/Jul-20/Jul in Shizunami beach, Shizuoka JAPAN.
This annual event started in 1992 as the “Junior Open Championship” which was established to strengthen and develop junior surfers’ surfing skills.
Eleven years later, in 2003, the first Masters Open Championship was held and aimed towards the junior surfer parents or guardians who drive the juniors to Junior Open Championships.
This year, 150 junior and master surfers are going to be gathered at this event in Shizunami beach which is a beach break.
NSA Beach Clean 2008
7/Sep 2008, NSA will have a beach clean up called as “NSA Surfers Beach Clean Act 2008” on beaches all over Japan. From north to south, east to west, about 12000 people participated in this event last year. We hope to get much more people involved this year.
Japanese men’s celebrity magazine “LEON” has featured this activity in this month’s issue.
We are focusing on keeping our beaches clean through this event and will continuously work on it.
