The Chilean stop of the World Tow-in Tour keeps waiting
Source: www.Chilesurf.cl
As the conditions are variable in the water, for this type of competition there is a waiting period, which started on April 15 and will last till July 15, with the possibility to continue to September 15 in case the expected swell never comes. But luckily, big swells are predicted in the near future.
The Surfing Tow-In World Championship sets its eyes on Chile thanks to the renown local big wave specialists Ramón Navarro, Cristian Merello, and, of course, Diego Medina. Diego Medina won the Billabong XXL in 2005 when he paddled for an 11 meter wave at Punta Lobos.
The competitors are waiting, so they check daily the official websites:
www.protowsurfers.org,
www.towsurfer.com and www.surfline.com.
When the swell enters the VI region, competitors from all parts of the world will land in Chile where the event will be carried out. It will last approximately three days and it includes three modalities: Tow-in, Paddle and an Expression session or best moves.
