The Peruvian Surfing Federation has just announced the 12 surfers that will represent them in the sixth edition of the biggest surfing tournament for surfers Under 18 years old, the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship that will take place in Le Penon Plage, Seignosse, France.
The full team of Peruvians includes:
Under 18 Boys

Alessandro Luis
Under 16 Boys
Cristobal de Col
Carlos Mario Zapata
Martin Jerí
Miguel Tudela
Under 18 Girls
Valeria Solé
Alexia Jerí
Nadja de Col
Mariangela Zapata
In the last few years, Peruvians have suffered an inexplicable lack of missing junior talents. Since the great generation of surfers like Sofía Mulanovich, Gabriel Villarán, Javier Swayne, Gabriel Aramburu, and Sebastián Alarcón among others, a generational gap followed them, until today, where we can see great Under 16 surfers like the ones that will represent Peru in this year event.
In past editions of the tournament, Peruvians obtained a 9th in the overall team position in Tahiti 2004, as their best result. In Durban 2003 and Huntington Beach 2005, they placed 10th, in Brazil 2006 they placed 11th and they obtained their worst result last year in Portugal, placing 13th.
With a new generation of great Under 16 surfers and Under 18 girls, they have the chance this year to climb on the ratings.
