Multiple Panamanian National Champion, Gary Saavedra has a full agenda in May. Some days ago he left for Bali, Indonesia, where he will surf in different locations of the Malayan archipelago.
Together with his brand-new wife, Monica Baiz, the Billabong team member began a trip that took him to California, Japan and will end at the paradisiacal Island of the Gods.
“In the first day of our trip, before crossing towards the Indian Ocean, everything was a terrible success – said Gary – and we where received with open arms by our different sponsors -Billabong, Quiksilver, Reef & Byrne-, who fully equipped me. We also spent some time with those Latin friends that live in California and others that were competing in a 4-star event at Trestles. Among them were Magnum, Kalle, Escudero, Dylan and many others”.
“While staying in San Diego, he continued, picking up our magical quiver, we were very lucky to encounter the legendary Mavericks founder, Jeff Clark, who spoke to us of his experiences”.
“We are now on our way to the airport, where we will meet Jon, Danny and Philippe to take off towards paradise” declared Saavedra and Patrick Castagnet to Surfpress.
The Panamanian entourage includes Gary Saavedra and his wife Monica Baiz, Patrick Castagnet, Tuti de León, and photographers Phillipe Demarsan and Agustin Muñoz from Surfos magazine.
In the following days, Surfpress will keep us informed on the latest news of Gary Saavedra in the territory of the Pecalang.
