Canada is going to the Juniors
Canadians confirmed their participation in the sixth edition of the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship, the biggest tournament for under 18 surfers in the planet, that will be held in Le Penon Plage, Seignosse, France, from May 24 until June 1.
Surfing in Canada has being growing fast in the last few years. We weren’t used to see the Canadian flag in the ISA contest and nowadays, we can see it in almost every event. They will be competing with 8 surfers and flying to France to defend their nations colours.

Canadians already competed in three editions of the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship; USA 2005, Brazil 2006 and Portugal 2007, placing 23rd in their first two participations and 24th last year.
About International Surfing Association
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for surfing, bodyboarding and surfriding. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980.
ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of over 50 countries on six continents. Its headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is presided by Fernando Aguerre, first elected in 1994 in Rio, and re-elected six times since. The ISA's four Vice Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Maile Aguerre (Hawaii) and Mike Gerard (USA).
