The Canary Islands Under 21 Tour is Coming

Last Thursday, February 21, a press conference for the 1st Canary Islands Under 21 Tour took place. The event was presented by Billabong.

The conference was held at the Rahn House of Puerto de la Cruz’s Council. Jose Serrano, sports town councilman, and Adrian Garcia, the secretary of the Canaries Surf Federation, were there.
They both emphasized how important this event was for the Canary Islands.

Jose Serrano also said that“ this is very supportive for surfing. Martianez Beach is one of the most visited places in the city.
Not only by the great number of tourists who enjoy the beach, but also by many young surfers who practice day after day …This City Council will keep encouraging extreme sports and promoting surf schools and under 21 competitions.”

Adrian Garcia also took the chance to thank all the sponsors and collaborators for this first test. He said: “Martianez is probably the first spot where surfing took place on our island, so it deserves to be included in our annual schedule.

But it is also because it’s a place where beginners and professional surfers are able to do what they love in the best conditions...”

Finally, it was announced that the test will be carried out either on March 1-2 or the following weekend on March 8-9, depending on the conditions.
