Diego Medina won the Icefrut 2008 Surf Tour ‘s first stage

The Icefrut 2008 Surf Tour, organized by the Chilean Surf Federation, had a hard-fought final where Diego Medina, Horcon representative, won the competition by an adjusted mark (0.7). Local surfer Edwin del Río, who was defending his title, obtained the second place in the Open division, third was Maxi Cross, and Tristán "Momo" Aicardi, from Bahia Inglesa, was fourth.

In the Ladies division, Mariane Lombardi won the event that was sponsored by Mall Plaza and Rip Curl. Camila Cifuentes, Coni Sánchez and Kathy Del Río followed Lombardi, respectively.

Eduardo Carpinello was the winner in bodyboard, beating current 2007 Pan American Champion Gabriel Brantes in a tough final. Felipe Soler was third and Felipe Concha obtained the fourth place.

Maximiliano Cross won in the Junior division and Puntito González, from Pichilemu placed second. Sandro Mena (Horcón) was third and Lander De Gaminis fourth.
Finally, Tomás Villegas, from La Serena, stood out in the aerial festival even though he had never competed in that division.

The event had an excellent organization and perfect waves.

Billabong Reñaca Pro Cup is coming

Surfers from all parts of the country will gather together at Reñaca, in the 5th Region, on January 25-27 for the Billabong Reñaca Pro Cup by Snickers, presented by Falabella. Diego Medina, Cristián Merello and Manuel Selman have already confirmed their attendance in the Open division.

Sofía Bórquez, Camila Cifuentes, Josefina Domínguez, among other surfers, will compete in the ladies division. And in bodyboarding the best national riders Gabriel Brantes and Eduardo Carpinello will also be there.

The divisions are: Surf Open, Surf Junior, Surf Ladies, Bodyboard Pro.

The event will be sponsored by:  Billabong, Falabella, Doo, Menthoplus, Listerine Portable and Mallsport.
