Guadalupe gave a great Pan American performance

Guadalupe´s National Team had an acclaimed performance in the 8th Pan American Surfing games and was able to place 7th in the general classification.  Despite having begun their performance from the repechage, their surfers put forth a strong level of surf. 

Alice Gironella was the only athlete to climb the podium.  The bodyboarder placed second to the grand champion Neymara Carvalho, asserting herself as the only athlete from Guadalupe to gain a medal. 

Charles Martin was perhaps the most explosive surfer of his team.  In the lefts of Urracas he was a crowd pleaser and received a roar of applause from the audience with his precise maneuvers.

The other distinguished surfer of the team was Dimitri Ouvre in the Junior category.  In spite of his strong performance, he fell short of the finals.  Had he started in the main event, the story would definitely be different for Mr. Ouvre.
