Once again the Brazilian machine worked perfectly

As in the past, the Brazilian surf team arrived at the international event with one clear objective: to win. 
In terms of international events, the 8th Pan American Surfing Games were the last mission for the “verde amaerela” squadron and thanks to a high level of surfing, the Brazilians achieved their intended goal.

Brazil landed in Iquique one day before the action commenced and despite not having tested the waves beforehand, they truly exemplified how to manage themselves in the team competition.  Extremely concentrated in their arena, which they left only when the announcer called them to action, the members gave their best allowing them to gain the majority of the medals.
The Junior, Longboard, Women´s and Women Bodyboard divisions were the golden harvest for Brazil.

The hero of the last round was Wiggolly Dantas, who in the last 40 seconds turned the tables on Manuel Selman, who had appeared to be the clear winner of the Junior division. 
In the Longboard contest, Phill Rajzman clearly demonstrated that he is the true world champion in his field.  Incredible airs in the rights of El Colegio defined this charismatic surfer.  He carves classic lines in his surfing and has an affinity for the air as if he was a pilot. 

Diana Cristina de Souza was the clear and absolute winner in the Women´s category.  The brunette surfer proved her excellence and in no time became integrated as one of the elites of female surfing.  Diana applied herself to the task with rapid manoeuvres and intense concentration in order to finish off all of her rivals in the remainder of the contest.

Neymara Carvalho was the other great female surfer on the Brazilian squadron.  The bodyboarder simply confirmed her reputation as the favorite and quickly established herself as the world champion in her category. 

With this last title, Brazil was able to finish off the year with one more trophy in its showcase as the 2007 Pan American Champions.  One more… and then?
