Manuel Roncalla leads in Peru after four Events

After the Peruvian Chevrolet Surf Circuit’s fourth event, San Bartolo-born Manuel Roncalla appears at the top of the national ranking. The circuit travels across the excellent Peruvian waves from north to south in eight stops.

19-year-old Roncalla leads after winning the first event, carried out at the La Pampilla beach in Lima. He then was placed 7th at his waves in San Bartolo, 19th at Puerto Azul and second at the classic left-breaking waves of Señoritas, where the 4th event took place this month on days 3 and 4.

In perfect 4 to 6 feet waves, with 183 competitors distributed in eleven categories, the winner was Jorge “Coco” Fernández, who surfed at his characteristic radical manner and left precisely Roncalla in second place, César Siles in third and Pablo Doig in fourth place.

The Peruvian Chevrolet Surf Circuit continues on April 7-9 at the waves of La Isla in Punta Hermosa beach. After the eight programmed events, the athlete that sums up the greatest score considering his six best events, will be confirmed as the Peruvian Surfing Champion. The frontrunner in the Open Category will win a Spark Chevrolet.
