Brazil defines Junior Team this weekend

At the southern waves of Xangri-lá beach, Rio Grande do Sul, the Brazilian team that will compete at the upcoming Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in Portugal, will be defined with the conclusion of the second stage of the Maresia Brazilian Surfing Tour.

The Brazilian Surfing Confederation –CBS- already announced the names of five of the team members, so seven places are ready to be filled with the best placing surfers at this weekend’s contest. Santa Catarina’s Alejo Muniz and Parana’s Bruna Schmitz were invited by the CBS to be on the team, as well as last year’s Brazilian and current Brazilian Champs, Jadson André, André Pastori and Diana Cristina.

With one stage already held of the Maresia Brazilian Tour, there are three places to be filled at the Boys Under-16 category. Miguel Pupo, Marco Fernandez, Luel Felipe and Yan Guimaraes are some of the surfers that will be battling this weekend for a place in the team.

Two places remain open for the Under 18 Boys and Girls. Some of the boys that are close to obtaining a place in their divisions are Charlie Brown, Johnny Max, Magno Pacheco, Petterson Thomas and Caio Cezar. Among the Girls: Monik Santos, Givanilta Ferreira, Barbara Muller and Gabriela Leite are looking forward to a place on the team.

Brazil was third at the last Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships that was held at their home spot of Maresias in the state of São Paulo.
